Hmm. We went for a motorcycle ride yesterday with a group with Allen. I love riding and I love hanging with people and … I am not a good group member.
It irked me to be told what side of the road to ride on. It bugged me to have to go at someone else’s pace. It chaffed me to not be able to see over the people in front of me. It stressed me to deal with extra details like hand signals.
I want to go to at my own pace, take things at a speed that’s comfortable with my skill level, enjoy the landscape and sights around me. Not possible in a group. So group rides, probably not for me.
(Don’t confuse this with not being a team player. There’s a time for teams and a time for individual sports. Motorcycling is definitely the later. Definitely.)
